how it came to be? Nessie the Sculpture stands 16
feet tall and weighs 2,652 pounds! Imagine how much
bigger she is than an adult who is 6 feet tall and
weighs 200 pounds. Nessie lives in Rockaway Town
Square in Rockaway, New Jersey. In her story, you
will learn about all of the people who helped build
her to be the beautiful sculpture she is today —
beginning with artist Rita Blitt who drew Nessie
for the first time on a small piece of paper. Nessie
the Sculpture was written by Rita Blitt and published
in 1982.
