DIVIDING THE RECTANGLE

In the early 70s, I began having great pleasure in dividing the drawing paper into two or three shapes. I could not understand why. Through the years, I have periodically explored dividing the rectangle and I’m still wondering at the great satisfaction that I feel in doing this.

Seeking Truth shows how dividing the rectangle drawings led to a new series of sculptures called the Black Box Series.
