Parsons Dance Company recently performed the "Finding Center" dance, which includes Rita Blitt's artwork, in Milano. While there, Corriere Della Sera (Milano) wrote a review on the dance company's performances. Here is an excerpt from the review:
If we had to imagine an EKG of the dance audience in Milan in the past 20 years we would report a peak whenever the Parsons Company arrives in the Milan theaters. The endorphin effect it's a common thread of the David Parsons dance.
In his range of choreography, he promises and maintains his promises of offering fun, quality, excellence, packaged with great professionalism. In his own country he supports his company with minimal public funding. In this last tour there is more. At the Arcimboldi theater he proposed an anthological program. The jewel, "Caught" is given to the strong Elena D'Amario, and to Ian Spring, "Union" is a Parsons' hommage to the modern dance masters Taylor and Graham. Hand Dance and In the End follow the magic of "Nascimiento". Finding Center is on the beautiful Rita Blitt abstractions. In Unexpected Together, signed with Ephrat Asherie, the Hip Hop germs contaminate the post-modern. Here Parsons, the patriarch, reveals a new creative youth that sparkles from sequences of magic jumps and whirls for dancers in a state of grace.
